What Makes Lingerie Sexy?
Let’s face it: girls and guys have very different takes on what makes lingerie sexy. Girls tend to gravitate towards white, lacy ensembles in the bedroom, while guys often choose anything red, black or, umm… stringy. Why not surprise your gal with something you’ll both love? After all, the better the gift, the better the reward (hint, hint!). Because we’re nice (and yes, sometimes naughty!), we’re providing a simple guide below for choosing the right lingerie for your lady. Get ready for some serious fireworks, guys!:
If she’s conservative:
She prides herself on her community service hours and gives weekly lectures on education reform at the local learning center. What could she possibly wear in the bedroom – Why not try this in Cream. She’ll feel pure, innocent and completely at ease — perfect for a romantic weekend promoting world peace or whatever else she’s into at the moment. You’ll find this and other items like it in our Chemise category.
If she’s feminine:
Sweet, girly and pink — just like she likes it. A satin Chemise in a blushing shade of pink is right up her alley. In fact, she just might like it enough to put her lady-like virtues to rest for the evening. (Don’t hold your breath, but if anything will do it, a silky pink chemise will!) Try searching the “Gown” category for something equally elegant!
If she’s confident:
She’ll look stunning in ANYTHING from our “Bustier and Corset” Category. In fact, I’d even venture to say she’ll have just as much fun putting it on as you’ll have taking it off! Complete with sexy details and sweet ribbons, this hot pink number exudes all the confidence in the world — perfect for your assertive lady. And with plenty of bells and whistles to tug on, maybe it’s time you stood up to her confidence and showed her who’s really boss…
If she’s athletic:
Sure, your gal can run a mile in six minutes flat, but can she keep up with you in the bedroom? She will now – the “Matched Set” category is perfect for your marathon-loving girl. With a any type fabric, she’ll feel just as comfortable as she would if she were donning her favorite Green Bay running shorts. (Lucky for you, she won’t be!)
If she’s racy:
Face it — she’s Jessica Rabbit in human form. Give her something she’ll really shine in, like ANY Garter belt set. She’ll feel as sexy as she looks in red, black or a
soft pink. You’ll enjoy hours of role-playing. Breakfast in bed? Optional.
Tips for Buying Lingerie
Most of us are a little shy to openly address sexuality on the whole, nevermind admit that our sex lives with our partners may need a little spicing up. This is no better time than the present to embrace your sexuality and take the time to rediscover your partnership on a very intimate level!
Unfortunately, it is a natural fact that intimacy gets put on the back burner as we focus on dealing with our busy every day lives, and the stresses and responsibilities associated with them.
If you are not one of those couples who possess the amazing resolve to regularly designate time to your love life, think about the following suggestion to put fresh and sexy back into your routine!
Lingerie is the ultimate luxury: women feel divinely sexy wearing it, and men feel divinely excited to take it off!
Women will have a strong sense of who they are, and how daring they are willing to go on their choice of lingerie, so if you are purchasing something special for your partner to wear for an exotic evening together, be mindful of whether she will feel comfortable in it – you don’t want to kill the romance right out of the gate!
Lingerie is the gift that keeps on giving – to both you and your partner!
Knowing the lingerie basics and how to go about purchasing it are key factors in making your lover feel sexy and special. These handy tips should help you find something spectacular:
1. Don’t be tempted to buy what you want to see your lady in: spend some time investigating what she buys for herself. Ultimately, your lingerie gift should reflect your mate’s personal style so she will feel comfortable and confident in it.
2. Size matters! You should be able to surmise your lover’s lingerie size by conducting a quick stealth mission through her intimates drawer. Purchasing the right size and a good fit will leave her feeling extra sexy and sultry.
3. If you are at all in doubt about her size, fall back on what you know about her mindset towards fit: does she enjoy the compliment of receiving a smaller size? …Or would she prefer a larger size, which secretly makes her feel thinner when she has to return it for the next size down!?
4. Get up to speed on lingerie nomenclature. Shopping for intimates will be far less daunting if you know what you are looking for. This quick guide below will set you straight on a number of the lingering questions you may face when buying lingerie.
Bustiers and corsets look very much alike and perform the same basic function as undergarments. Both are formfitting, strapless tops that most often fasten with adjustable ties at the back. Bustiers may be fitted with straps at the waistline to attach garters, and corsets extend beyond the waistline which makes them a more slimming option for cinching the waist.
Garters that hook onto a bustier or corset usually comprise of simple adjustable straps that hook onto stockings. Stand-alone garter belts resemble a very short skirt, or narrow band that fits around the hips and sports the same adjustable straps to attach to stockings.
Our Top Tip: garter belts are a great compliment to a bra and panty set. Although she may not wear it on a day-to-day basis, she will reserve the garter belt for special occasions, or when she is feeling particularly sexy!
Whereas a chemise and camisole are often worn day-to-day, teddies and baby dolls are more likely to be saved for the bedroom.
A chemise is a short under-dress or slip, and a camisole is a short-fitted top with thin straps, and offers little.
A teddy is a sexy one-piece, similar to a bodysuit, and a baby doll is a short gown usually fitted around the bust and flared to the hip. Baby dolls are often sold with matching panties.
